Treasure Hunting after God

Jun 15, 2025    Dr. Ron Hamilton

We're called to develop a deeper understanding of the fear of the Lord. This isn't about being scared, but rather cultivating a profound reverence and awe for God. The book of Proverbs repeatedly emphasizes that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. As we embrace this concept, we open ourselves to tremendous blessings - riches, honor, and life itself. But how do we cultivate this fear? It's through pursuing God daily, watching at His gates, and waiting at His doorposts. This pursuit changes us, aligning our priorities with God's and helping us discern between good and evil. As we press into knowing God more intimately, we become more sensitive to His voice, more attuned to His will, and more empowered to live righteously. This journey isn't always easy - it requires us to cleanse ourselves, to turn away from evil, and to trust God even in the face of adversity. But the rewards are immeasurable. Let's challenge ourselves to deepen our reverence for God, allowing it to transform every aspect of our lives.
